Rocky Point Park Amenities: Identity design

Project: Identity design for Rocky Point State Park

Client: The Steel Yard for RIDEM and City of Warwick

Rocky Point State Park, Rhode Island’s newest coastal state park, sits on the site of one of the most popular attractions in Rhode Island. Open from 1847 to 1995, Rocky Point Park, was an amusement park on Narragansett Bay famous for its rollercoasters, clambakes, and music shows.

The new state park consists of 120 acres of public space under the oversight of the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM) and the City of Warwick. The client wanted to develop a new identity for the park that shifted focus from the property’s entertainment history to a forward-looking mission of ecological and environmental sustainability. The project includes identity design for benches, trash cans, and an entryway fence for the new fishing pier. Amenities to be installed in Spring 2022.
